about

The recording of "pol p" was made during the salon by Michael Rieken/Paul Michael von Ganski at the exhibition project [3.2,y,1.5] Floating Points by RESEARCH AND WAVES. The exhibition took place at Raum für Drastische Maßnahmen in Berlin. The recording of "pol p" was made at 7th October 2017.

Paul Michael von Ganski plays 2 prepared antique Garrard turntables, a prepared gramophon, a UHER report tape recorder, digital sine wave oscillators, a fluegelhorn with a gramophone soundbox instead of a mouthpiece, cymbal, an electrical toothbrush and harmonica.

The record at the beginning was Pol Placon singing the Serenade Mephistopheles from Gounod's Faust (Victorola 85100, 1903).

The singing on the tape loops was by Elias Samoyoni Mtamu Peppino Benedictus Lucke.

Somewhere at the second part of the recording there are a lot of clipping, artifacts and glitches delivering some extra noise.
